About the Role

As a Truck Driver, you will operate heavy commercial vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently across local, regional, or cross-border routes. Your primary responsibilities will include pre-trip inspections, cargo loading/unloading, route planning, logbook completion, and compliance with all transportation regulations (HOS, CVOR, FMCSA).

This role requires physical stamina, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently for extended periods. Long-haul drivers enjoy significant time away from home with higher pay and bonuses, while regional or local drivers benefit from daily home time and consistent schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer
  • Transport freight to designated locations following assigned routes and schedules
  • Secure cargo using straps, chains, tarps, or other equipment as required
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) of driving hours, rest breaks, and fuel stops
  • Communicate with dispatchers, shippers, and receivers regarding delays or issues
  • Load and unload goods using pallet jacks, lift gates, or manual labor (when required)
  • Follow all federal and provincial transportation regulations (CVOR, HOS, weight limits)
  • Maintain cleanliness of truck cab and ensure regular maintenance is scheduled
  • Handle delivery paperwork, bills of lading, and proofs of delivery
  • Drive safely in all weather conditions – rain, snow, ice, and high winds

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 or AZ driver’s license (full or graduated license accepted)
  • Clean commercial driving abstract (no major violations or DUI)
  • Minimum 1 year of truck driving experience (some positions accept recent driving school graduates)
  • Air brake endorsement (mandatory)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, chain tires, and enter/exit cab multiple times daily
  • Good English communication skills (reading road signs, logs, and speaking with customers)
  • Valid Canadian work authorization (LMIA and permanent residency support available for qualified foreign drivers)
  • Cross-border experience (Canada-US) is a strong asset for long-haul roles
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and extended trips (for long-haul)
