About the Role

As a Kitchen Helper (Aiuto Cuoco or Lavapiatti), you will support chefs and kitchen staff with essential daily tasks. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with basic food preparation, washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly.

This role requires working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and may involve long periods of standing, light lifting, and flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. It is an excellent opportunity to learn authentic Italian cooking techniques while earning a stable income.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwasher
  • Assist with basic food preparation – peeling vegetables, chopping herbs, portioning ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
  • Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries of fresh produce, meat, and dry goods
  • Dispose of garbage and maintain waste separation according to Italian recycling rules
  • Restock kitchen supplies (plates, cutlery, napkins, etc.) for service
  • Follow HACCP food safety and hygiene standards
  • Support line cooks and chefs as directed during busy service periods
  • Maintain personal hygiene and wear clean uniform at all times

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Italian kitchen culture
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting up to 15 kg, and repetitive tasks
